Productive programmer to assist in building a demonstration using advanced technology code generation and business services layer development, starting with a base of generated but very readable Java code that talks to a MySQL or Oracle database. The legacy application whose modernization we are demonstrating is over 1 million lines of Unisys mainframe COBOL. The technology stack for the demo consists of Java 7, JSP, Spring Web MVC, Hibernate, and supporting technologies such as Log4J and other commonly used open source frameworks.
Review Design Documentation as applicable
Develop Java code per schedule
Develop and conduct Component and Assembly Test, including deployments to an Apache / Tomcat platform
Support TPRs during test phase (analysis, closure, etc.)
Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior developers on the team
Identify Java technical risks and issues
2-5 years JAVA/J2EE Development experience
Experience developing and delivering IT solutions
Experience speaking and writing in a business environment
Proven ability to work independently and as a team member
Good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
Good organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
Technical Skills Preferred:
Java Enterprise Edition (formerly J2EE)
Spring Web MVC
Oracle Database Development
Application Server (Tomcat required, Oracle a plus)
Server Oriented Architecture (SOA) with WSDL
